Uprooted

A few years ago, I moved from a house that we loved. Over twenty years, we had built and nested into a comfortable space that was like part of my body. We left it all behind to start anew: Uprooted to a new place, with unfamiliar spaces and faces, and feelings of unsettling and uneasiness that lasted.

Like a tree uprooted and planted in a new garden, I am waiting for the days when new roots will sprout and hug this strange land to blossom and grow.
