Forest Scenes

These works were inspired by Robert Schumann’s solo piano pieces, “Forest Scenes”, which convey wonderment in the magical forest.

These nine exquisite songs, full of fantastic images, are the last piano compositions Schumann wrote before he was institutionalized in 1854.

I made these paintings as a backdrop for piano concerts performed by my talented sister, Wonmi—in Bloomington, Indiana, in 2011, and in Chinina, Italy, in 2012.
